Hi, folks, welcome to UCLA MD chat. Today's webinar is going to be about the neuroscience of behavior change. I'm Robert Bilder. Tenenbaum, family professor, psychiatry and bio behavioral sciences. And I'm excited to talk to you about this topic. And I'm also excited to get your questions, which you can ask on Twitter, just using the hashtag lb, UCLA MD chat. So I look forward to get those questions coming in.
Some of you may have questions already. And as we go on, I'm sure you'd have a lot more questions. What I'd like to do is talk about some of the fundamental principles of behavior change from a neuroscience perspective. So I'd like to start with talking about this stages of change model, and then introduce some brain theories of behavior change. And then finally give you a couple of applications and examples. If you're interested in delving in, there's a couple of articles here that you can read up on, and delve in to get to get more material that I hope will backup what I'm about to tell you. Now, why do we care about behavior change in the first place?
