Working with Mindfulness
The Potential Project | 22:18
So welcome to this session on working with mindfulness.
What we're going to cover over the next 1520 minutes, is how you can utilize what you have learned through your daily mindfulness training, how you can utilize that in your daily work as to be more effective, more productive, and less stressed.
First of all, we're going to look at some of the characteristics of modern work life and how that has changed over the last few decades. We're also going to briefly look at what is the brain's response to that. And we're going to talk about the highly esteemed concept of multitasking, we're going to make a little test on that, and actually look at how that just is not the best way of working.
At the end, we're going to suggest an alternative, an alternative to multitasking, we call it working with mindfulness, or utilizing the true rules of mental effectiveness. And what it's about is using exactly what you've been doing in your ABCDE training in the way that you're working on a normal daily basis.
So first of all, we'll just look at what work life looks like nowadays. Now we're working all over the world. And what we've seen is that no matter where people work in whatever organization they are experiencing, the four characteristics are, first of all being under some kind of pressure when they're at work, feeling that they are always on always having to be available on their mobile devices, and so on.
Also, that there's a lot of information that they have to cope with on a daily basis, or even momentarily basis, constantly, lots of new information coming towards them.
