Experiencing the Mind

Neuroscience has produced enormous advances in our understanding of the brain - but relatively little progress on the mind. We’re still struggling to understand what it is, where it originates, and how it works. We do know, that everything we believe is true about ourselves, about others, and about the world at large originates in the mind. And that the meanings that we attach to what we see, hear or feel are (mostly non-consciously or unconsciously) created there as well.
Mindfulness gives us the power to examine, question and intentionally change these otherwise automatic, immutable beliefs - and so consciously make positive and strategic choices about our purpose, values, behaviors and relationships.
This all happens in the mind. So, this first exercise is to simply pause, open our senses, and experience the feeling of consciousness in the present moment.
