Your brain's nearly 100 billion interconnected neurons allow it to do some amazing things. Your brain combines information from all of your body senses to paint a picture of the world around you. It uses inference and instinct to make sense of the pictures it assembles. It makes and uses emotions, which are value judgments that help the brain respond effectively to events.

It records these pictures and feelings as memory and learns from them for future use. And by combining all of these tools within imagination, your brain can predict future events, calculate your next move and devise plans for future opportunities. In other words, your brain's trillions of connections work together to understand the world, to think about the future and to create you. And now, your brain understands a little bit more about itself.
