New B Lab Standards

B Lab has introduced new standards for continuous improvement in cultural and workplace practices for B Corporations. These Fair Work standards ensure that B corporations show a sustained, measurable commitment to improving leadership effectiveness and the well-being, engagement, and participation of their people.

Capabilities That Drive Change

Meeting the new B Lab standards means developing people—not just policies—through training that links cultural goals to lasting behavioral change. Our new IOSM courses train the human capabilities required to meet and exceed the B Lab requirements.

The mental and emotional capabilities behind effective leadership and work are not fixed traits - they are trainable skills.

Unlike traditional leadership or wellness programs, IOSM teaches practices to retrain the underlying neural pathways that shape how we think, feel, relate, and perform—producing change in the moment and transformation over time.

Courses

Skills for Continuous Improvement

IOSM has developed two distinct courses to help B Corps improve leadership effectiveness and workforce well-being. Both are grounded in the latest research in cognitive neuroscience and organizational psychology. These courses are offered separately. Together, they form a coordinated enterprise solution that provides integrated leadership and workforce skills, driving cultural change from the ground up and the inside out.

Course 1.
Neural Skills for B Corp Leaders

How our leaders perceive the world, regard themselves, and interact with others has a profound impact on culture, the workforce, and their own capabilities and effectiveness.

We value leaders who arrive with a positive growth mindset and act with authenticity, integrity, trustworthiness, and emotional intelligence. We want our leaders to be self-aware, considerate, and compassionate toward others - to create an environment of trust and psychological safety, and to encourage open dialogue and shared decision-making.

For centuries, these attributes were considered to be immutably fixed by genetics and environment. Now we know they can be intentionally trained through neuroplasticity, and we're learning to reshape them. This is new science, yet it is increasingly essential to effective leadership in our VUCA world.

Course 2.
Neural Skills for Wellbeing

Workplace and societal pressures are producing record levels of chronic stress, anxiety, digital distraction, attention deficit, information overload, decision fatigue, relentless change and uncertainty, and finally, exhaustion and burnout

These pressures aren't just uncomfortable and unpleasant. They compromise our mental clarity, focus, attention control, and other cognitive capabilities—and impair our mindsets, motivation, engagement, and participation.

But science is advancing—and giving us new ways to exit these states of autopilot distress, to minimize suffering in the moment, and retrain it away over time. We have new tools to help our people avoid burnout, reset and re-engage, concentrate more deeply, collaborate more effectively, and perform with focus, calm, and flow.
