Mindfulness at YMCA of the USA
This free webcast offers an in-depth profile of the in-house mindfulness program for leaders at the YMCA USA. We’ll meet and interview mindfulness champion Wendy Saunders, former Senior Manager of Leadership Development and explore her journey - the challenges she encountered and lessons learned - in launching and growing an effective grass-roots mindfulness program.
The YMCA is an $8 billion organization, with over 20,000 staff and 600,000 volunteers in 10,000 communities, serving 9 million youth and 13 million adults each year. It is a large and complex enterprise with a commitment to personal and social responsibility - and it cares deeply about the mental health and resilience of its employees.
About IOM Case Studies
Helping our people cope with stress, change and uncertainty is top-of-mind for leaders at every level. One of the simplest, most cost-effective, yet powerful strategies is to organize an internal, on-going mindfulness program.
IOM Case Study Webcasts are a series of live monthly interviews with the leaders and champions of the organizational mindfulness movement. Each session profiles a unique journey to envision, launch and grow a successful in-house mindfulness program in a corporate environment.
Case studies so far include Aetna, Amazon, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, LinkedIn, Pacific Blue Cross, Ford Foundation, EY and Toyota - and we’re looking forward to many great sessions ahead. These insights are an essential resource if you are planning to bring mindfulness into your company!
IOM Case Study Webcasts are pre-approved for 1 recertification credit each through SHRM and HRCI.
About IOM
Institute for Organizational Mindfulness (IOM) is a non-profit association of human capital and operating leaders, researchers and educators who share a mission to bring science-based mindfulness into the workplace.
Mindfulness is a process of neural training that produces remarkably positive outcomes in health and wellbeing, cognitive performance and emotional intelligence. In turn, these attributes can be applied to develop more effective leaders, a happier and higher-performing workforce, and a safer, more inclusive, more productive workplace.
Organizational mindfulness is that subset of mindfulness outcomes that are rigorously secular, confirmed through scientific research, and can be intentionally applied to improve individual and organizational performance.
